About This Product

The 14-knot thread that protects for a full year — and the one item no Vishnu devotee can source at a corner store. Anant Chaturdashi is the Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturdashi vrat dedicated to Vishnu’s Anant (infinite) form. The centrepiece is the Anant Sutra — a sacred thread with exactly 14 knots, each tied with specific mantras, dyed yellow or red-yellow. This thread is worn on the right arm for protection throughout the year. Without it, the vrat cannot be performed. Eleven items, Vishnu-compliant: yellow chandan (not white, not red), Tulsi Ark (mandatory for any Vishnu observance), and yellow vastra. The 14-knot thread is the anchor item — it is the single most difficult component to source in diaspora markets, and its inclusion alone justifies the kit premium. Anant Chaturdashi falls once annually in August–September, coinciding with the end of Ganesh Chaturthi. Families who observe this vrat typically also observe the 14-year cycle — once started, the vrat continues for 14 consecutive years, which brings families back year after year. For importers, the 14-year commitment cycle is the commercial insight: a customer who buys this kit once buys it 13 more times. Available for private label with custom packaging. MOQ on request.
