About This Product
Bihar’s gift to the world — the only major Hindu festival dedicated to the Sun, and the one where purity standards are absolute.
Chhath Puja is the four-day Surya Upasana observed primarily by Bihari, Jharkhandi, and Eastern UP communities. Its purity requirements are the strictest of any Hindu festival: every ingredient must be untouched by impure hands, unprocessed, and demonstrably natural. The festival’s devotees will reject a kit that includes anything with chemical processing. This kit is built to that standard.
Eighteen items cover the four-day observance: the bamboo soop (winnowing fan) that is the iconic Chhath offering vessel, whole turmeric roots (not powder — the whole ganth is specifically required), 51 unbleached cotton wicks for the multi-diya evening arghya, and orange/yellow sindoor specific to Chhath tradition rather than the red sindoor used in other worship.
The Chhath diaspora is large, concentrated, and intensely loyal to the festival. Bihari communities in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Gujarat, and internationally (especially Gulf countries, US, UK, Canada, Australia) observe Chhath without compromise. For importers serving these communities, Chhath kits generate reliable annual demand — the same families buy every year.
The purity positioning is commercially important: Chhath devotees actively verify ingredient authenticity. Traditional, natural materials and bamboo-free dhoop are what this audience looks for first; they decide the purchase.

Chhath is the only major Hindu festival dedicated exclusively to Surya — the Sun. The four-day observance follows the most rigorous purity standards in Hindu practice: every offering must be prepared by the devotee’s own hands, with ingredients that are demonstrably unprocessed and untouched.
