About This Product
One kit, three festivals, one season — the January harvest celebration that spans every region of India.
Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Lohri, Bihu — the January harvest festival goes by different names in different states, but the core worship elements overlap: sesame seeds (til), jaggery (gud), whole turmeric, and fire offerings. This kit captures that common ground, making it saleable across North, South, West, and East Indian communities.
Sixteen items cover the harvest worship: black and white sesame seeds and jaggery are the definitive Sankranti ingredients (til-gud is the festival’s identity), raw turmeric ganth for the Pongal tradition, and standard samagri for the puja component. The brass bell (ghanti) serves both as a puja implement and a harvest-celebration element.
The multi-regional positioning is the commercial insight. A “Sankranti kit” sells only to Maharashtrian and Gujarati buyers. A “Pongal kit” sells only to Tamil buyers. A “Harvest Blessing Kit” with til-gud, raw turmeric, and universal samagri sells to all of them — one SKU serving four festival names.
January demand is concentrated in a 3-day window. For importers, stock by December and position alongside the Lohri kit (bonfire-specific) for complete harvest-season coverage.
