Karthigai Pooja Kit

South India’s festival of lights — where the diya count and oil quality matter more than the samagri list. Karthigai Deepam is the Tamil and Kerala festival of sacred flame, centred on the lighting of multiple agal vilakku (traditional oil lamps). Unlike North Indian Diwali which emphasises Lakshmi puja samagri, Karthigai is about the lamps themselves: the quantity of diyas, the quality of the oil, and the sustained burning through the evening. Eleven items, weighted toward the lamp elements: 11 terracotta agal vilakku, 100 unbleached cotton wicks (the South Indian lamp tradition uses thick, long-burning wicks), 250ml cold-pressed sesame oil (til oil is the prescribed fuel for traditional lamps), and a bulk pack of 100 mogra dhoop sticks for atmospheric fragrance during the lamp-lighting. The commercial positioning targets Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu diaspora communities specifically. Karthigai Deepam is not widely observed outside South India, which means competition in diaspora markets is minimal. For importers serving South Indian communities, this is an uncontested category. The sesame oil and bulk wick quantities position this as a value kit — the customer gets lamp supplies for the entire festive evening in one purchase. Available for private label with custom packaging. MOQ on request.
