Maha Laxmi Vrat Kit (16-Day)

Sixteen days, sixteen knots, sixteen cowries, sixteen lotus seeds — the numerology is the product. Maha Laxmi Vrat is the 16-day fast starting from Bhadrapada Shukla Ashtami. Unlike the weekly Vaibhav Laxmi, this is a focused 16-day observance with specific daily rituals. The number 16 pervades every element: the Sola Taar (16-knot thread), 16 cowries, 16 kamal gatta, 16 wicks — each quantity prescribed by the Vrat Vidhi. Eleven items, each in quantities of 16 where applicable. The Sola Taar thread is the anchor item — it is tied on the wrist at the start of the vrat and worn for the full 16 days. The lotus-scented dhoop references Laxmi’s lotus seat. The Katha book is read daily during the 16-day period. The vrat falls in August–September, overlapping with the Ganesh–Navratri festive corridor. Maharashtrian and Gujarati communities observe it most widely. The 16-day commitment creates a dedicated customer: once started, the household needs the complete kit. The arithmetically precise quantities (all multiples of 16) signal ritual knowledge and differentiate this from generic Laxmi kits. Available for private label with custom packaging. MOQ on request.
