About This Product

The day Tulsi marries Shaligram — and the wedding season officially opens. Tulsi Vivah (Dev Uthani Ekadashi / Prabodhini Ekadashi) is the symbolic wedding of the Tulsi plant with Lord Shaligram (Vishnu), performed on the 11th day of Kartik Shukla Paksha (November). It marks the end of Chaturmas (the four-month period when weddings are prohibited) and opens the Hindu wedding season. Fourteen items for the Tulsi wedding ceremony: the miniature red chunri dresses the Tulsi plant as a bride, the mini shringar kit (sindoor, bindi, bangles) adorns her, and dry amla and symbolic sugarcane sticks are the traditional offerings. The Katha book narrates the story of Tulsi’s devotion. The wedding-season-opener positioning is commercially significant: Tulsi Vivah signals that the marriage season has begun. Families who perform it are about to spend on actual weddings, making this a bellwether purchase. For importers, November timing precedes the December–February wedding season. Available for private label with custom packaging. MOQ on request.

Tulsi Vivah Katha Book
Tulsi Vivah — the wedding of the sacred basil with Vishnu’s stone form, Shaligram — marks the end of Chaturmas, the four months when Vishnu sleeps and weddings are forbidden. The ceremony is not metaphor: families perform it with full wedding ritual, dressing the Tulsi in a bride’s shringar, as if the plant were a daughter of the house.
