Annaprashan (First Meal) Kit

The baby’s first taste of solid food — and the silver bowl that families keep for a lifetime. Annaprashan (also Mukhe Bhaat in Bengali, Choroonu in Malayalam) is the Sanskar where a baby receives their first rice feeding, typically in the 6th month. The silver-plated bowl and spoon are the ceremonial utensils — traditionally kept as family heirlooms. The rice used is consecrated with the puja before feeding. Eleven items centred on the feeding ceremony: the silver-plated mini bowl and spoon are the anchor items — they elevate the kit from samagri to a keepsake. Sandalwood paste (chandan) for the baby’s tilak, jasmine dhoop for the gentle fragrance appropriate around infants, and standard samagri for the accompanying puja. Annaprashan is universal across Hindu traditions, making this kit viable for all regional communities. The keepsake silver bowl creates a gifting dimension — grandparents and relatives often purchase the Annaprashan kit as a gift for the family. Available for private label with custom packaging.
