About This Product

The biggest night of the Shaiva year, and a kit where one wrong ingredient loses the customer. Maha Shivratri devotees know exactly what belongs on a Shiva altar and what does not: bhasma, white chandan and rudraksha belong; haldi, kumkum and kewda do not. A generic puja kit fails this buyer. This one is built to Shiva-specific rules from the start. Eight items, all Shiva-compliant. Pure bhasma and white chandan powder for tilak and abhishek, a pack of rudraksha beads, a cotton sacred thread, Bhimseni kapoor and cotton for the lamp. The copper abhishek bowl and mini brass trishul are the keepsake pieces: they stay on the household altar long after the festival, and they are what makes the kit giftable. Everything ships in Chaitanya's reusable heirloom metal box. Maha Shivratri falls on the fourteenth night of the waning moon in Phalguna (February–March), and it is observed as an all-night vigil. The night is divided into four prahars, with an abhishek offered in each, so households use through the night what a normal Monday puja uses in minutes. That is why the kit is weighted toward abhishek and tilak materials rather than general samagri. For importers, Maha Shivratri gives a reliable February–March sales spike between the Diwali and Navratri seasons. The kit also sells through Shravan, when Shiva worship peaks again on every Monday. Strictly compliant: no haldi, kumkum or kewda included. Available for private label with custom packaging. MOQ on request.
